Gurung retun hint as Siliguri bathes in saffron

BINITA PAUL, SNS, 24 MAY 2019, SILIGURI: After registering a record w in in the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency, new BJP MP Raju Bista today expressed hope that fugitive Morcha leader Bimal Gurung would return to the hils soon Mr Bista also said that people belonging to diverse communities in the Hills Terai and the Dooars like the Muslims, Sikh, Koch, Mech, Toto, Bengali, all want Mr Gurung back Mr Bista's comments came here even as Sligui town wore a saffron look following the 'abir' powder party supporters used to celebrate the resounding victory of their candidate.
Mr Bista also thanked the people of the Darjeeling constituency and assured them that he would serve them well. He also assured them that he would work for the people right from here and not only from Delhi.
"BJP won a hattrick here, and this time, we won by more than four lakh votes, which shows how people love (Narendra) Modi People were fed up of the politics of the Trinamul Congress and this is why they chose us. All the promises I made during my campaigning,  I will fulfil them in the next five years. I also thank all the parties who supported us, like the GJMM, GNLF and also the CPRM, because of whom we are able to get these many votes." said Mr Bista.
"I will start working from tomorrow and our first priority would be to calm Bengal. Secondly there is no central Universify in this huge region, and also this region lacks a good quality hospital. Moreover, our Gorkha community has been facing an identity crisis problem for over 200 years. I will deal with those issues and the BJP has decided that it will find a permanent solution to this." he added.
BJP supporters in hundreds gathered today at the Jaymani Bhawan at Venus More here to march in the victory rally.'
Several onlookers and passers-by also spontaneously joined in the celebrations as the party leaders, workers and supporters marched in utter joy.
Siliguri roads and people bathed in the saffron colour, while supporters shouted their signature slogan, 'Jai Shree Ram'
People were totally in a festive mood on the roads.
The rally started from Venus More and ended at the same spot after making a round till Air View More and Panitanki More, while covering Bidhan Road too.
Abhijit Roy Chowdhury, the BJP organisational district president, said they organized the march to celebrate the big victory. "We are very excited, and all the road is now saffron.There are so many people to celebrate the joyous moment and support the BJP," said Mr Roy Chowdhury.
Mili Mandal, one of the supporters in the rally, said."' have loved the BJP the moment I started knowing what politics is all about. It is indeed a happy moment to us, now that the Trinamul rule will end and the  BJP will rule the country and the state here soon."
Bijay Agarwal, another supporter, danced his way in the rally. "It is more like a festival for us. The way we celebrated Ram Navami, we are celebrating the BJP's joy today in a similar fashion," he said.
