Parties in blame game in K'pong
SNS, KALIMPONG, 21 APRIL 2019: A vehicle of Asit Rai, the district treasurer of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (Binoy Tamang camp), was vandalised at 11 Mile in Kalimpong by unidentified persons yesterday. The youth wing of the GJMM was quick to put up posters and accuse the GJMM (Bimal Gurung camp), BJP and GNLF supporters of disturbing peace in the hills.
One of the posters put up at Dambar Chowk here dearly mentions that leaders belonging to the Gurung camp alliance. Topden Bhutia,
Suva Pradhan, Pratap Khati, Bandana Yonzon, Bijay Sundas had been trying to foment trouble in Kalimpong.
It may be mentioned here that two cars, one belonging to Mr Bhutia and another of a news channel, were vandalised on the day of polling in Kalimpong. Mr Bhutia had later accused the GJMM (Tamang camp) supporters, of perpetrating the 'life - threatening' act.
Mr Bhutia maintained today that such act; were pre-planned conspiracies. According to him, people from the other faction of the GJMM have realised that they are going to lose when the election results are announced and therefore are creating situations where cases can be registered against supporters of the Bimal Gurung camp of the GJMM and BJP supporters.
"Booking cases against Bimal Gurung and BJP supporters is easy; it's a conspiracy against us. As far as Asit Rai's vehicle is concerned, the administration should conduct an unbiased investigation," said Mr Bhutia.
