Meet the person behind the viral Mizoram kid picture ... The nurse, who clicked the photo of six-year-old Derek C Lalchhanhima with an injured chick, works at the primary health centre in Sairang

On Wednesday, Lalchhanhima accidentally ran over his neighbour's chick with his cycle at Sairang. On realising his mistake, the little gentleman rushed the hurt chick to the nearest hospital with all the money he had.

The little boy is an epitome of goodness and shows to us that all is not lost. He does something which we adults often forget to do these days. We don’t even bother to stop to catch a glimpse of a human bleeding on road, forget about animals.
The story, posted on Facebook by a user ‘Sanga Says’ on Tuesday, has gone viral and has been shared over 87,000 times and counting.
As per Sanga Says, the boy is draped in a shawl which is a traditional way of honouring someone among Mizos. "In Mizo tradition, different types of shawls are usually presented to esteemed guests...," he wrote in a Facebook post.
"The shawl that is draped on him looks like a modified version of the 'Tawlhloh Puan', an honour given to those who have exemplified extraordinary courage," he wrote.
On Thursday, Lalchhanhima was praised by his school, St Pio, and was awarded a certificate of appreciation for his act.
