Murder in Duars... Woman on call steps out of home, then killed

TT, 25 February 2019, Jalpaiguri: A 24-year-old bank employee from Jalpaiguri's Nagrakata died on Saturday after being found bleeding near home Priyanka Lama's family has alleged murder and neighbours protested outside the police station on Sunday demanding that her killer or killers be tracked down.
A source said Priyanka had got a job in a private bank a couple of months back and was posted in Kurseong. She had come home on Friday. She had lost her father many years back and used to stay with her mother Aruna On Saturday evening, she was speaking to someone on her cellphone at home in the Chadar Line area. 
"While continuing the conversation, she stepped out of home. Her mother thought she would be back soon. Around 8pm, some neighbours heard her groaning in pain and shouting for help. As they rushed out, they found her lying injured with blood oozing from her mouth and nose," said Ganesh Alley, her uncle Doctors at the block health centre in Sulkapara where she died suspect she was hit with a blunt weapon.
"We suspect the attackers had called and asked her to step out of home," said Asitabha Bose, a member of Nagrakata Panchayat Samiti "Our officers are on the case. We are waiting for the post-mortem report on the exact cause of her death," said a police officer.
