Triangular love... `Suicide' in Digha hotel

TT, 6 Feb 2019, DIGHA: A 22-year-old youth was found hanging from the ceiling fan in a hotel room in East Midnapore's Digha on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old woman who attempted suicide was also rescued from the room. Police sources said Deep Nayek and the woman had come to Digha on Saturday posing as husband and wife.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Deep, a resident of Howrah, had developed a relationship with a local woman and was forced to marry her after she became pregnant. Meanwhile, the other woman from Burdwan confronted him and demanded that he should marry her.

They both came to Digha and tried to commit suicide together. Deep's body has been sent for autopsy.
