Tamang camp slams Girl remarks

SNS, 4 February 2019, DARJEELING: The women wing of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha's Binoy Tamang faction has said that the Bimal Gurung camp's letter sent to chief minister Mamata Banerjee, seeking to hold talks, was meant for the security of leaders of that camp and was not aimed at benefiting the Hill people.
Fugitive Morcha leader Roshan Giri yesterday said he welcomed statements made by Miss Banerjee to work on the security of the Gorkhas and on finding a permanent solution to the Hill problem.
"They want to hold talks with the state government for their own security and not the benefit of the people. The other reason could be that they have been betrayed by the BJP. Assurances had been given to them on issues like Gorkhaland, tribal status for 11 different communities and central university, but nothing was done and now Bimal Gurung is understanding the intentions of the BJP" Nari Morcha president Tshering Dahal said in a statement she issued yesterday.
The statement added that the reason why the issue of a permanent solution to the hill problem had come up now were due to efforts put in by their leaders like Binoy Tamang and Anit Thapa.
" If they are wanting to hold talks with the state then they should clarify why Anit and Binoy were branded as betrayers when they were holding talks with the state," said the Nari Morcha leader adding that it was after two years that normality had been restored in the Hills, and that they were now appealing for talks, while at that time earlier, threats had also been issued to those holding talks with the state government.
