DA review hearing in HC ends
TT, Calcutta: The high court on Friday ended hearing of an application by the Bengal government that sought the revision of a verdict by a division bench that dearness allowance was the fundamental right of state employees.
The division bench of Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Sekhar Bobby Saraf, which heard the revision plea, said the court would announce its judgement later.
In August last year, the division bench of Justice Debasish Kargupta and Justice Sekhar Bobby Saraf had set aside an order of the State Administrative Tribunal that said DA payment was the discretion of the state government.
The court had sent the matter back to the SAT for adjudicating state employees' long pending demand of DA on a par with that of their central government counterparts..
