Asok's turn for Metro Channel

TT, Siliguri:Mayor Asok Bhattacharya said on Wednesday that he would hold a sit-in a demonstration at the Metro Channel in Calcutta along with other Left Front councillors to protest against the Mamata Banerjee government's alleged denial of funds to the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. 
"The finance minister placed this year's budget in the Assembly on February 4. But no funds were allocated for the development of the SMC."
"I have been knocking on the doors of the municipal affairs and urban development department, finance department and offices of all officials concerned for the past four years but could not manage funds.That is why I have decided to hold a sit-in demonstration in Calcutta, ” Bhattacharya said here on Wednesday. 
“If the chief minister can hold a dharna at the Metro channel against the Centre, we feel we, too, should take the same path as we are facing a similar ill-treatment from the state". The date, he said, will be finalised soon.
