Aadhaar & PF help for tea hands
, Siliguri: Darjeeling MP and Union minister of state SS Ahluwalia inaugurated an Aadhaar and provident fund camp for the benefit of tea garden workers of north Bengal at the regional PF office here on Monday.
The MP said from now onwards, the officials of the PF department and those associated with making of Aadhaar cards would visit tea gardens across the region and organise similar camps to help the tea workers and their families.
"The Centre is keen to extend its support to the tea workers. As we learnt that these people often face problems in getting their PF and getting their names enrolled in Aadhaar, we took an initiative to hold a camp here for them," said Ahluwalia.
"PF officials and those associated with Aadhaar cards will form a team and organise such camps in tea gardens to extend benefit of PF and provide Aadhaar cards to the tea population," he added..
