2019 elections: Around 7 cr voters to exercise franchise in Bengal

MP | Kolkata: The number of voters in Bengal has reached 6,97,60,868 which is a rise of almost 2.51 percent compared to the last Lok Sabha elections in 2014. The figures have been made official in the final roll which has been published by the Election Commission of India recently.
According to the draft roll, the number of electors was 6,80,50, 595.
Around 20,67,303 voters have been added to the list this year.
The number of women voters in the final roll is 3,39,75,979 as against 3,30,27,933 as per the draft roll. The number of male voters is 3,57,83,463 in the final roll as against 3,50,21,409 in the draft roll.
The total number of third gender will be 1,426 in the final roll.
After the final publication of the electoral rolls, the period of continuous update will prevail. The Chief Electoral Officer, Bengal, has appealed to the electorate to verify their electoral status in the electoral rolls. A voter may check the details of the Assembly constituency, polling station, his or her part and serial number in the electoral roll by either calling up the toll-free helpline number 1950 or by typing WB<>EC<> EPIC NO and sending it to 51969. The electors can also access www.ceowestbengal.nic.in and search their names in the electoral rolls with the voter card number.
They can also download the ANUBHAV app from Google Play Store to know more about the electoral details. The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will sit at respective polling stations on January 27 and receive forms from the citizens. The citizens may fill up form 6 and 8 for enrolment and correction of electoral details.
The National Voters' Day (NVD) will be celebrated on January 25 across the state. The state-level NVD will be celebrated at Mohar Kunja at 2 pm. In the districts, the NVD will be celebrated in the polling stations, blocks, sub-divisions and district headquarters.
The state level NVD competition will be held on January 18 at Bhasa Bhavan among district winners of quiz and extempore speech competition. On the occasion of the Voters' Day, the district election officers, electoral registration officers and Booth Level Officers will be felicitated in recognition of their contribution for improvement in Gender Ratio, enrolment of young electors and cleansing of electoral rolls along with community mobilisation.
