20-member Bangladesh military team visits Sukna
On arrival at Phulbari Border Outpost on Indo-Bangladesh border in Jalapiguri, 9 km away from Siliguri, the team led by Major General AHS Hasan was welcomed by the officers of the Indian Army. Thereafter, they proceeded to the Indian Army station. During their 5-day long stay, the delegation will visit the Indian Army formations and units to brief on various initiatives on military training by the Indian Army.
They will also be familiarised with training in mountain warfare and will be shown various training institutes, including the world famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling.
Sports and cultural events are also being organised for the visiting team. The team will return to Bangladesh on November 18. "The bonhomie and cooperation developed through such visits would go a long way towards enhancing the spirit of mutual understanding and friendship in the years to come," stated an army release.
