Unnatural death of Engg student: Autopsy reveals injuries on body
MP | Kolkata: Mystery intensifies in the unnatural death case of a final year engineering student, Darpan Raj Singh, as several injury marks were found on his body. On September 18, Darpan was found hanging from the ceiling of his flat at AD 171 in Keshtopur. His girlfriend and another friend removed Gagan to R G Kar Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the attending doctor. Sources informed that during autopsy concerned doctor found several injuries on body.
In the autopsy report, it was mentioned that there were total 19 injury marks on his body. Primarily, police and deceased's family thought it was a case of suicide. But as the autopsy report came in, the scenario changed. On Tuesday Gagan, Darpan Raj Singh's father filed a complaint against the girlfriend and two others for allegedly beating up his son. As soon as the complaint was filed, police initiated a case charging the accused persons for voluntarily causing hurt. None have been arrested till Tuesday night.
Local sources informed that Darpan took the flat on rent in August. Soon, after he moved in, his girlfriend used to visit him regularly. But none of them including Darpan made any communication with the neighbours. It is suspected that Darpan was forced to hang himself. For that purpose, he was beaten up. Though sleuths did not make any comment regarding this but sources informed that all possible angles will be nurtured. Police sources informed that Gagan stated his suspicion about his son's girlfriend, who was present with the deceased in his room along with two others, who might have murdered.
