FIR against two policemen

TT, Jalpaiguri: An FIR has been filed against two policemen at Kotwali police station in Jalpaiguri for allegedly submitting wrong information to court in a land dispute case.
Biswasroy Sarkar, the inspector-in-charge of Kotwali police station, registered the FIR against Palash Dutta Roy, a sub-inspector, and Sandip Subba, an ASI.
Sources said a case related to a land dispute and cheating had been registered in September last year at Bhaktinagar police station under Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
As the case was heard in the CJM's court, it was found there were discrepancies in the FIR, case diary and other documents. The court issued a directive to the superintendent of police of Jalpaiguri to probe the case. Dutta Roy was the GRO (General Register Officer) in Jalpaiguri court then and Subba the investigating officer of the land dispute case.
