Prohibitory order in state
The complete draft will be released at 10am on Monday.
The prohibitory orders were issued by district administrations by promulgating Section 144 CrPC, prohibiting assembly of five or more persons, carrying weapons/firearms, holding procession, meeting, rallies, picketing, postering, wall writing, among others which could disturb public tranquillity and cause disharmony among different sections of people.
Special director-general of police (special branch) Pallab Bhattacharyya said certain forces were spreading misinformation about the NRC update and police are keeping a close watch on them.
He said theywere mulling action against a national news magazine and a web portal for allegedly publishing false and inflammatory write-ups about the NRC update process.
He added though there was no specific intelligence input about any possible attempt to disrupt peace, the police are leaving nothing to chance.
"Vulnerability assessment was done by the district police and accordingly force deployment has been made. The places where largescale deletion of names is expected and those areas which are far or inaccessible from the nearest police station have been identified as vulnerable," Bhattacharyya said.
The army will also be kept on standby for any contingency.
