Couple brutally murdered in Siliguri, children found alive
Kushwa used to run a manpower agency providing both male and female workers to catering agencies.
The Kushwa family used to reside in their 3-storied house at Sukantanagar. The female workers attached to his company stay in the same house. There is another rented house in Pradhananagar, Bagdogra adjacent to Shukantanagar, where the male workers are lodged.
On Saturday, Kushwa had a contract to provide workers in a hotel in Siliguri.
At around 1:40 am on Sunday after his job was over, Uday Pradhan, a staff had gone to Kushwa's residence to hand over the keys and drop the female workers back home.
When he reached the house, he saw that the main gate of the building and the main door to his floor were wide open.
As he entered their apartment, he found Ajay and Mina lying dead in pool of blood in separate rooms.
The bodies, including faces, were badly battered. Whereas the children were found alive in a different room. Pradhan immediately reported the matter to the police.
Police arrived immediately and recovered the dead bodies. Prima facie the couple had been murdered with blunt weapons. The assailants could be known to the couple as the doors were not forced open.
"We have started investigations," stated Arun Haldar, DCP, Zone II, Siliguri Police Commissionerate.
Sources state that two angles are being probed by the police.
A female staff, who has been staying in the house for the past three days, was present during the incident, however, she claims that she had not heard anything nor was aware of the incident. The sleuths are questioning her.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Ajay had a heated argument with a fellow tenant residing in his rented house in Pradhannagar. The lady claimed that she was regularly disturbed by Ajay's staff returning late from work.
A heated argument had ensued between the lady and Ajay. The lady had allegedly threatened to throw him out of the rented premises. Police are also questioning this lady.
