CM claims popular support...

TT: Mamata Banerjee spoke on the panchayat poll results while leaving Nabanna on Thursday evening.
The main takeaways from her comments Trinamul is confident of winning all zilla parishads barring one (she did not mention, but she probably meant Jhargram)

Such a huge mandate was impossible without popular support

The Opposition parties’ failure to field candidates was the reason behind rise in number of uncontested seats

Trinamul won in maximum number booths, where repolling was held

There were sporadic incidents of violence

The ruling party was the biggest victim of violence as 10 of its supporters were killed

There were plans to help the families of the victims of poll-related violence

The Prime Minister’s comments on the panchayat polls in Bengal were insulting

The BJP tried to create trouble in areas along Bangladesh and Jharkhand borders

There was use of money power in Bengal polls and the kitty came through Assam and Jharkhand

The (Union) home ministry was pulling up the state unnecessarily everyday over complaints of violence in the polls

The BJP is working in tandem with Maoists in Bengal

The administration played an impartial role and that’s why Trinamul leader Arabul Islam was arrested

The problem of-poll related violence is not unique to Bengal.
