Sikkim regularises staff

RAJEEV RAVIDAS, TT, Apr 28, 2018, Gangtok: The Sikkim government on Friday announced its decision to regularise the services of various temporary workers and Home Guards working under various state departments.

A government notification issued on Friday said the services of all eligible employees working under various departments, who are continuously serving in the state on work-charged, muster roll, ad hoc and on consolidated pay for five years and more as on December 31, 2018, would be considered for regularisation.

"Male Home Guards who have rendered accumulative service of more than 15 years and above as on 31/12/2018 shall be considered for regularisation as security guards under health care, human services and family welfare department," said the notice.

Woman guards, who meet the same criteria set for men, will also be considered for regularisation as office attendants under various departments, the notice added.

The regularisation is seen as a bid to woo people ahead of Assembly polls.
