Madhyamik Board to introduce 2D, 3D technology in classroom teaching

MP, 2 January 2018, Kolkata: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is planning to usher in a change in the pattern of teaching at the Madhyamik level by introducing 2D and 3D technology in classroom teaching.
"Simply taking notes, memorising it and accordingly writing the stuff in the examination answer scripts will not do. We will focus more on hands on education and using of technology-based learning is a stride towards this," a senior official of WBBSE sai
It may be mentioned that the Board is mulling the teaching pattern in a similar mode to that offered by the ICSE and CBSE schools in IX and X standard.
The syllabus committee has been entrusted with the responsibility to delve deep into the nitty gritties of embracing this technology. "We are developing some e-materials for Classes IX and X. This e-material can be used in both 2D and 3D technology formats," chairman of the syllabus committee Aveek Majumdar said.
It may be mentioned that classrooms in the Madhyamik level which are involved in teaching the Science subjects are being upgraded to smart classrooms. This technology will be an intrinsic part of this smart classroom.
"As students will be encouraged to do things according to their interests, their understanding of the subject will be much better," a top WBBSE official said. However, the official made it clear that though the process of smart classrooms and technology-based teaching has already been initiated but it will take some time to put things into effect. It may be mentioned that to begin with the syllabus committee is making as many as 50 video clips for Classes IX and X respectively pertaining to the curriculum.
