Now, DA and HRA for Group C staff from Day 1 .... sixth pay commission extended for one year

MP, Kolkata: In an important development, the state government has decided to allow dearness allowance and house rent allowance from the first day of their job to the employees directly appointed to Group C posts. Earlier, they used to get the same only after completion of their probation period.
However, they will not be entitled to draw annual increment beyond the period of probation or during the extended period of probation in case they fail to pass the departmental examination on computer operation and computer typing where passing of such examination is a precondition for earning annual increment.
The time limit of the sixth pay commission has been extended by another one year to submit its report that would contain recommendations on salary restructuring of the state government employees.
A notification has been issued stating that the office of the chairman and the members of the sixth pay commission that was constituted in November 2015 has been extended for a period of one year from November 27, 2017.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced the setting up of the pay commission in 2015 to look into the restructuring of the state government employees.
