Trinamul pressure for Gurung arrest

SNS, Kolkata, 8 October 2017: After having succeeded in wedging a divide in the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) theTrinamul Con-gress today stepped up pressure for the"arrest" of the elusive GJMM chief, Bimal Gurung. Party secretary general and state education minister Partha Chatterjee also asked the hill administration to elicit information by interrogating BJP leaders on "whereabouts" of the former.
Raising the pitch for the "arrest" of Mr Gurung, Mr Chatterjee said that the GJMM chief should be arrested, while police should interrogate BJP leaders who, allegedly in cahoots with the former, were trying to vitiate the Hill atmosphere by fishing in troubled waters.
"Gurung should be arrested for he is an accused in an Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) case. And BJP leaders and especially an MP, who are reportedly hand in glove with the chief, are trying to foment trouble in collusion with the Centre at a tune when chief minister Mamata Banerjee is toiling tirelessly to restore peace and sanity after the 104-day strike in the Hills," Mr Chatterjee said.
Launching a broadside against the BJP leadership, he said: "By fishing in troubled waters they are constantly in touch with Mr Gurung and wasting their energy to bring back someone into political main stream who had been rejected by the Hill people. The Hills administration should quiz BJP leaders to elicit information about Gurung."
