Darjeeling Court unfit for trial
TT, Calcutta, Sept. 12: The Darjeeling district judge today sent a report to a CBI court in Calcutta, saying it would be impossible for the Darjeeling court to hold the trial in the Madan Tamang murder case through video conferencing.
Listing the reasons for the inability, the Darjeeling district judge said in the report: "The situation in the hills is unstable and the network is not available now. For video conferencing, good network is essential. Moreover, due to the present unrest, frequent disruption in power supply is taking place. We do not have power back up system to combat the problem.."
The district judge also made it clear that there was no proper infrastructure at the Darjeeling court to hold the video conferencing.
