Gautam Deb slams Bimal Gurung's statement made on I-Day

Prashant Acharya, EOI, SILIGURI, 16 Aug 2017:  Tourism Minister Gautam Deb slammed the statement made by GJM chief Bimal Gurung to carry on the movement for the separate state of Gorkhaland.
Gurung suddenly appeared on the 71st Independence Day celebration at Lebong ground, Darjeeling and addressed the gathering. He said, “GJM will never compromise on Gorkhaland demand and will fight democratically until the government becomes bound to announce Gorkhaland.”
Gurung also had thanked and appealed the people to never give up, keep the morale high and assure that he will never compromise and all the collective aspirations can only achieve Gorkhaland.
On the same contest Tourism Minister condemned the statement and said, “I don’t give importance to Bimal Gurung and also to his statements. What he wants is more important then what people wishes. Union Home minister Rajnatah Singh had asked to restore peace in hills but the strike is still continuing.
Minister also said that the law and rights are equal for all either Gurung or Prime Minister and the state will not provide above those rights.
He further said that the people of hills should come out of the strike to restore normalcy, the government and the police is taking the steps on the same line.
