Relief distributed at Pachey of Pakyong in Sikkim

PR, KalimNews, Pakyong, July 11: An ex-gratia of Rs 1,05,700 was given to the five affected house owners whose house had completely collapsed due to the landslide in Pachey of Pakyong. The ex-gratia included relief for home, clothing and utensil. 
The landslide that occurred at around 8:30 am of 10th July, completely washed out five concrete buildings of the area, however there was no casualty and the occupants could come out of their buildings safely before the incident. 
The relief camp has been set up for displaced families and for families whose households are in danger at Building Department guest house and RMDD annexure building next to the SDM office at Pakyong stated a  release issued by the information and  public relation department of the state government.
Shri Tsegyal Tashi said that the immediate ex-gratia compensation provided by the government was as per the natural calamities norms.The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling also met and interacted with the public of Temi- Namphing constituency at Cherry Resort, Temi today. He also gave a patient hearing to the request and grievances of the public from the surrounding areas.
Secretary-cum-Relief Commissioner, Tsegyal Tashi, Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department along with the District Collector (East), Prabhakar Verma visited the affected landslide area at Pachey in Pakyong, East Sikkim today to take stock of the situation and give ex-gratia to the victims of the affected landslide.
The Secretary also held a meeting with all the line departments where he asked for immediate restoration of water line, electricity etc so that people do not have to go through more difficulty. He also asked for people of the area to be on alert and requested the Pachayats to recce the area so that further unfortunate incidents can be avoided. Present in the meeting was ADC (Development)  Roshni Rai, SDM Pakyong, Yadav Krishna Sharma, BDO Pakyong and officers of other departments.
