Scribe helps NCC cadre after BJP supporters leave him injuredMP | 25 May 2017 | Kolkata: Going out of his way, a journalist helped an NCC cadre after he spotted him lying on road writhing in pain after being beaten up allegedly by some BJP workers on Bentinck Street.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appreciated the move of the journalist in helping the NCC cadre. BJP workers ran away when police chased them by raising their batons on Bentinck Street when some of them regrouped near Paradise Cinema Hall on the same road. All of a sudden, they attacked the NCC cadre in a white shirt and khaki uniform when he was performing his duty. Somehow, the cadre became alone with other policemen of his team moving a bit ahead.

According to a source, finding him all alone, a group of BJP supporters attacked him. He received injuries and fell on the road and was not in a condition to stand up on his own. Sukanta Mukherjee, the journalist of a news channel, found him writhing in pain and went forward to help him. Some policemen came forward when Susanta started trying to lift the youth to take him to a safer place. The youth was taken aside and police took necessary initiatives for his treatment.
