Funds for NBMCH facilities

TT, Siliguri, May 24: The state health department has sanctioned funds to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital to install more CCTV cameras, renovate corridor and purchase fire safety equipment.
"It has been decided to install 132 CCTV cameras across the NBMCH campus to increase surveillance," state tourism minister Gautam Deb said.
The hospital's corridor that was was damaged around five years ago in an earthquake will be repaired by the state PWD, Deb said. "We will send Rs 7 crore to repair the corridor that runs along the campus and connects different departments and wings of the facility. Also, Rs 4.7 crore will be spent to install fire safety equipment and on the construction of a water reservoir," the minister added.
He said stern steps would be taken against the doctors who abstain from their duties.
