Children abandoned by biological parents unpardonable! Emboldens agents and traffickers.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 25 May 2017: Bal Suraksha Abhiyan an NGO working against forced child labour, and human trafficking has done commendable job and rescued hundred of child labour and rescued children and adults from slavery. It also had rescued trafficked adults and children and encouraged them to start a new life and to some provided shelter for rehabilitation.
It also had reunited missing children to their parents. In a stray incident recently, it has reunited two abandoned children to their parent.
Two abandoned infants were reported by the Ward
Councillor of Ward No. XVI, Kalimpong Municipality on May 23, 2017. Bal Suraksha Abhiyan (BSA) team visited the ward and
recovered the children. Upon enquiry it was found that the mother was a reckless alcoholic and had
abandoned the children to fend for themselves.
Meanwhile the father was in search
of the children and had filed a missing report at Namchi, Sikkim Police Station
(where his wife was last seen). BSA was able to trace the Father and Mother and
eventually handed over the children to the Parents on May 25, 2017 in the best interest
of the children.
BSA has thanked the Ward Councillor
and Community members of Ward No. XVI for their alertness and prompt action as
responsible citizens in reporting the matter. BSA also has acknowledged the cooperation of the Kalimpong Police and Kalimpong District
Hospital.
In a press statement it has stated that it is regrettable that a
mother of two children can casually abandon her children while there is so much
concern about human trafficking and efforts to combat it in the present time.
Such foolhardy negligence by biological parents is unpardonable.
We as conscious citizen must act and practice and encourage others to work with moral and social duty and obligation.
