Govt starts process to regularise para-teachers
There are around 500 such candidates who cleared the TET but their recruitments are still uncertain. In South Dinajpur district, there were 55 such teachers who earlier got the appointment but later the appointments were cancelled.
The teachers started repeated demonstrations in front of the district inspector (primary education) office and also met the MoS, North Bengal Development, Bachchu Hansda.
Hansda approached Partha Chatterjee to discuss the issue and assured the teachers that they would be reappointed soon.
It may be mentioned that the teachers chose the option of 'para-teacher' during their form fill up but were unable to submit necessary papers to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.
Meanwhile, most of such candidates informed the board that they have mistakenly identified them as 'para-teacher' during the form fill-up.
