Adhoc teachers association agitation

SNS, Darjeeling, 24 March 2017: Around 131 teachers, associated with the schools which have not yet been recognised will soon initiate a stir demanding recognition of those schools and their appointment as teachers. 
A total of 31 schools in the Hills have not yet been recognized. They have been demanding appointment after the state's move to appoint voluntary teachers. 
According to the Secondary Adhoc Teachers' Organization vice president Nawraj Sangbo a total of 412 teachers were selected during the tenure of Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) as adhoc teachers. 
Of them 281 were given appointment letters as permanent teacher's. The fate of others is uncertain. 
Those teachers managed an order from Calcutta High Court and the GTA was asked to look into their problems. 
Another adhoc teacher Vaskar Thapa raised the is sue as the state has decided to appoint volunteer teachers why we would not demand appointment letter' s as permanent teachers from the state.
