SIKKIM HC GRANT BAIL TO PS GOLAY
SNS, Gangtok, 24 February: Sikkim High Court has granted bail to Opposition leader PS Golay. Mr.Golay president of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), was granted bail in the heating held on 24 February here today.
Chief Justice SK Agniihotri suspended the sentence till the disposal of the appeal made by Mr Golay in the High Court against the judgment of the trial court.
The Special Trial Court had convicted and sentenced Golay to one year imprisonment under Prevention of Corruption Act.
After receiving the orders from the high court, SKM executives and party supporters congra-ulated the SKM president at the district court premises,
Golay thanked his supporters and well wishers for their best wishes and support throughout.
Welcoming the orders of the high court, he said that he holds the utmost faith in the judiciary and hopes that justice will be held upon him.
