Apparent suicide case in Siliguri
EOI, SILIGURI, 1 Feb 2017: AThe body of a young woman was retrieved today by the police from a guest house in Pani Tanki, Siliguri. The deceased's name was Sushmita Roy, she was 19 years old. She was originally from Dhumgudi, Ward No-16, said the police.
Sushmita had eloped with her boyfriend and they were staying at the guest house. She is suspected to have committed suicide, although the reason behind the death is not known as yet, said Deputy Police Commissioner of Siliguri Zone-1, Gaurav.
The police have taken Sushmita’s boyfriend, Ratan Gangopadya, into custody for questioning.
