ICSE, ISC exams clash with polls, to be rescheduled
Rajeev Mullick, HT, 5 Jan 2017, LUCKNOW: The examinations for ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12) have been rescheduled after several papers were found to be clashing with election dates of five states.
The revised schedule is expected to be announced in 10 days.
The ISC examination was to begin from February 6 and ICSE from February 27. Elections in five states are scheduled between February 4 and March 8; counting is on March 11.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), which conducts the ICSE and ISC examinations, found that at least eight papers were clashing with the polls.
“Hence, the entire examination schedule will have to be rescheduled and a fresh time table will be announced shortly,” said Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary of CISCE.
“I was going to Lucknow when the EC declared the dates. We will conduct eight examinations on another date,” said Arathoon.
