CM ASKS CENTRE TO END CASH DRAWAL LIMITS.... MODI CANNOTEXPLOIT THE COMMON PEOPLE, SAYS MAMATA

SNS, 25 January 2017: Lashing out at the Centre for `snatching away' the economic rights of the people following the demonetisation, chief minister Mamata Banerjee requested the Central government to with draw the restrictions on cash withdrawal.
Miss Banerjee also said they will never step back and continue with their fight.
"On the eve of Republic Day I would request the government to withdraw the restrictions on cash withdrawal immediately. The common people deposit their white money in the bank. Among them, some work as government employees, some people are associated with small scale industries, some of them are shop owners and there are others who work in the private companies. It is the right of the people. Tax payers pay their taxes. So they do not have the right to impose restrictions on the money of the tax payers. The government of India had sought 50-day time but two and half months havea lready passed. Indian economy has been affected," Miss Banerjee told reporters at Sukna, near Siliguri, today, just before leaving for Kolkata after a five-day tour of Darjeeling district.
She said organising political programmes by 'snatching away' the public money could not be tolerated.
She said the arrest of Trinamul Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay was without any reason.
"We are requesting on behalf of the common people to lift the restrictions. Those who protested against the demonetisation move of the Central government are sent to the prisons curbing their democratic rights. Sudip Bandopadhyay was innocent. People who have thousands of rupees are being backed by the BJP leaders and are scot free. People of India will never absolve this exploitation. We will continue the fight and will not take back steps because it is the fight of the people. We will fight out the battle come what may" Miss Banerjee added.
She also added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was doing it for political reason, ...but he can not exploit the common people," she said.
Miss Banerjee said she will visit Kalimpong next month to declare the town as a separate district head quarter, bifurcating Darjeeling, next month. Meanwhile, a lady civic volunteer who was on duty outside the Sukna Forest Bungalow where chief inter had stayed last night, became ill. She was shifted from the spot.
