Local jeweller finds Rs 9 trillion in his bank account
EOI, Siliguri, 24 December 2016: Sarjeerao Rajaram Prasad is originally from Maharashtra and runs a small jewellery business at Khudirampally in Siliguri. He has a savings account with the local branch of the Bank of India (BOI).
On Friday evening, Prasad got the surprise of his life when he went to withdraw some cash from an ATM. When he had a look at the transaction slip, Prasad said he was stunned to see his account showing more than Rs9 trillion as remaining balance. Thinking the ATM had malfunctioned, he went to another ATM at Pakurtala and took out a mini-statement, but the result was the same. The bewildered jeweller then walked into the nearest police station and narrated his tale.
Prasad is now waiting for his bank to open on Monday to unearth the mystery behind his bizarre experience at the ATM.
