AIGL TO MOVE SC OVER BAIL GRANTED TO GURUNG

Pratap Khati
SNS, Kalimpong, 15 December2016: All India Gorkha League (AIGL) leadership today announced that it will go to the apex court for cancellation of anticipatory bail of Bimal Gurung, leader of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, and 22 others accused in the Madan Tamang case after Calcutta High Court's Division Bench granted their pleas.
Today AIGL secretary Pratap Khati said the CBI lawyer's inefficiency and CBI's flexible attitude resulted in the anticipatory bail of Gurung and 22 other accused.
We earlier informed the CBI director and joint director about the lawyer inefficiency and demanded to change it but no hearing as of now was held which have resulted in the anticipatory bail of 22 accused," Khati said.
He said they were going to the Supreme Court to challenge the order soon.
"We are very saddened and shattered, hinting towards Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM)," he said.
"Being a powerful party as well as the ruling one, with the power of money they got bail. They tried to influence and tamper the witnesses many times," Mr Khati claimed.
He also said the case is under the guidance of the Supreme Court so we can approach them if them is any problem in the case.
Khati, a lawyer himself, said hearing for an anticipatory bail which takes maximum of 30 days time in this case took one and a half year. He added, " Here we can say how much influential they are."
We will fight relentlessly for justice for Bharati Tamang, widow of Late Madan Tamang, president of AIGL, as well as for the AIGL," he added.
