Tourism minister Gautam Deb who held a meeting with representatives of the company here today said: "We have held preliminary talks. We feel it is a good proposition to set up an orchid park in the region. It will require at least 35 acre, which we can give them in Alipurduar or Jalpaiguri district." He added that he will discuss the proposal with Mamata Banerjee in Calcutta on November 30.
Utpal Banerjee, the head of North Bengal Floritech, said: "There is no such park in India. At the proposed park, we plan to grow orchids in natural environment."
