CM Delhi revisit
TT, Calcutta, Nov. 18: Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit Delhi again next week for a "renewed" protest against the Centre's demonetisaion drive.
Trinamul sources said Mamata, who returned to Calcutta today after three days of protest in Delhi, had told party colleagues she would go back to the national capital and hoped for a "more intense attack".
"She will be back. There will be a renewed, more intense attack. There will be support from those who have been hesitant so far and even from some unexpected quarters," a senior Lok Sabha member said this evening.
Sources said that before leaving Delhi, Mamata had instructed MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay to participate in another meeting of Opposition parties called by the Congress on Monday.
After coming to Calcutta, she stood her ground on the three-day deadline she had announced yesterday for the rollback. "As long as there is no supply of fresh notes, old currency must be allowed as legal tender... No need for anymore faltu (useless), action-less announcements. Sometimes blunders lead to more (and) more blunders," she wrote on Twitter.
"We will wait for 72 hours," she added.
