Diwali tourism help
TT, Siliguri, Oct. 20: Tourism minister Gautam Deb today said help desks set up by his department at the principal entry points for tourists in Siliguri would work in consonance with police during the coming Diwali holidays to prevent taxi drivers from overcharging tourists.
He held an administrative meeting today with various sections of the government and asked fire department to be alert to prevent any mishaps during the festival. He also said restrictions on crackers would be enforced strictly.
