Nude pics on social media, teen ends life

Monotosh Chakraborty | TNN | Sep 13, 2016, KOLKATA: A Class-XII girl committed suicide after her estranged husband allegedly posted her nude photographs on a social networking site. The accused and a nextdoor neighbour of the girl fled after news of her death spread.
Apparently, the estranged husband was enraged by refusal by the girl of his repeated advances to win her back. The girl, her relatives said, was shattered after she saw her nude photographs on Facebook. She went into depression and on Sunday night killed herself, though police found no suicide note. "But the ligature mark on her neck is ante-mortal so the death is suicidal, not homicidal. We are looking for the youth, Mithun Naskar, who is a courier company employee," said cops.

"We have seized a few computers and checked out whether any photograph was posted and subsequently deleted," said police.
"The 17-year-old girl had lost her father a few months ago. So she was already upset. She was continuing her studies with the help of an NGO. The photographs of her past intimate moments with Naskar left her shattered. She turned quiet and lost all her energy. But we never had any inkling she could take such an extreme step," said her relative.
