Police files case in 'morphed' nude photos of Bengali actress

PTI, Kolkata, 19 August, 2016: The cyber crime cell of Kolkata Police on Friday registered a case against unknown persons for morphing photographs of an actress of Bengali soaps.

Some unknown people posted "morphed" nude photographs of popular television actress Madhumita Chakraborty on a web page having link to neighbouring Bangladesh, police said.

A case was registered this afternoon after Chakraborty met senior officers at the Kolkata Police headquarters on Friday.

"We have already started our investigation into the matter. Going by the first look, the photographs seemed to be morphed.... Two different photographs have been superimposed. We are looking for the Internet Protocol address from where the morphed photographs were uploaded," a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.

At least 100 such "morphed" photographs were uploaded on the website, the actress alleged in her complaint.
