GTA Sabha Chairman leaving GJM

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 August 2016: Rumour about GTA Sabha chairman Bhupendra Pradhan of joining AITMC is still uncertain. However he has confirmed of leaving Gorkha Janmukti Morcha and his posts assigned by GJM.

Bhupendra Pradhan popularly known as Pradeep is a sabhasad of Phoobshering - Pandam constituency in the GTA, also is vice president of GJM and was elected as chairman of GTA Sabha. His desire to leave the party has been confirmed by himself to various media sources however GJM has denied it.

Morcha president and GTA chief executive Bimal Gurung, while returning from Tindharia met Bhupendra at his residence in Naya Bazar, Kurseong. Bimal Gurung was with Bhupendra for 1.5 hr. Morcha's media cell circulated a photo of them and claimed that leaving of party by Bhupendra is just a rumour.

The Telegraph has stated that Bhupendra spoke to it confirming his meeting with Bimal Gurung. During the meeting Bimal Gurung told Bhupendra to work together. However, Bhupendra told Bimal Gurung that he had been hurt by the party's attitude and as he had come from a political family and have been in active politics for the past 29 years and his children have started asking him what he had contributed to Kurseong and he had not been able to contribute one bit to this place.

The newspaper had added that Bhupendra told Gurung that he did not want to continue in the party and he should groom someone to take his place. He also told him that he should be relieved of his post.

Bhupendra also had said that he had always worked with sincerity and dedication and if Gurung had found him to have misused a penny, he could do anything to him, the Telegraph has quoted.

Till now Bhupendra has denied of his desire of joining any political party but there is a rumour that soon an official announcement will be made regarding his joining of AITMC and some TMC sources confirmed it. Meanwhile, a police picket is posted at Bhupendra's residence in Kurseong.
