Another sex racket busted in Pradhan Nagar area in Siliguri

EOI, SILIGURI, 4 Jul 2016: A little more than two days since the arrest of 18 people from Pradhan Nagar in Siliguri for alleged involvement in a sex racket, the police today busted another similar racket from the area and arrested three people including two women and a male.

Police sources said more suspects could be arrested by late evening once the arrested people are interrogated and raids are ongoing in various localities of the area. They said the sex racket was running in a house in Pradhan Nagar and details of the house owners and the kingpin are being looked into.

Since January 2016, 26 people have been arrested from the Pradhan Nagar area with residents saying Pradhan Nagar, Hyderpara and NJP areas are becoming sex markets. They however, appreciated the work of the police in making several arrests saying this would thwart such illegal activities.

On July 1, the Pradhan Nagar police raid a guest house in the area and arrested 18 people including 12 males and six females and seized two cars from them. On January 31, five people, three females and two males, were arrested from a flat, again from Pradhan Nagar, for their suspected involvement in a sex racket.
