
State hikes Adhoc Bonus

A notification in this regard was issued by the state finance department.
Sources at Nabanna said the move will benefit nearly 10 lakh state government employees. An ad-hoc bonus of Rs 3,400 would be given to the state government employees drawing upto Rs 25,000 towards basic and DA per month.
Last year,the amount of ad-hoc bonus was Rs 3,200 and limit of salary (basic and DA) was Rs 24,000 per month. Along with this, an interest-free festival advance of Rs 4,000 would be given to the state government employees drawing between Rs 25,001 and Rs 36,000 towards basic and DA per month with a condition of returning it in 10 instalments.
The amount of festival advance last year was Rs 3,500 and the salary slab was for Rs 24,001 to Rs 35,000. While this benefit would be extended to Muslim employees by 30 June ahead of Eid, the rest would get it between 21 and 29 September before the Durga Puja.
A senior Cabinet minister said that the move has been taken despite the government’s severe financial crunch. Since, 2011, the adhoc bonus and advance are being raised by Rs 200 and Rs 500 respectively,he added.
