MAN RUN OVER BY TOY TRAIN IDENTIFIED

HT, 17 June 2016, DARJEELING: The man who was mowed down by a Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) train on Friday night has been identified as Nima Tamang of Upper Sirubari, Kurseong.
The diesel locomotive running from Siliguri to Darjeeling had run over a man at Gorabari in front of the Silesian College, around 2 km from Sonada, around 8.20 pm on Friday.
According to a source, the wife and daughter of the deceased claimed that Tamang was suffering from mental illness and used to wander around.
On Friday night, railway staff noticed a mangled body on the wheels of the train as it was entering the Sonada station, 16 km from Darjeeling town.
On closer inspection, they found that it was the torso of a man. Police were informed immediately. Police then launched a hunt for the upper half which was found on the tracks in front of the Silesian College.
