Mamata's TMC looks set for comfortable win in West Bengal, C-Voter Exit Polls indicate
TOI, May 16, 2016, Kolkata:In the end it appears, Saradha and Narada couldn't dent the Trinamool Congress, as incumbent Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress looks set for a second consecutive term in West Bengal, the C-Voter exit poll indicated on Monday.
Banerjee's Trinamool Congress looks to be leading in 167 seats and the CPM-Congress is ahead in 120 seats.
The CPM that decided to ally with the Congress will not be able to rustle up a majority, the C-Voter exit poll indicates.
In 2011 the TMC won 184 seats, the CPM won 60 seats and the Congress won 40 seats.
At campaign rallies before the election, Banerjee exhorted her voters: "Mamata Banerjee is the candidate in all 294 seats".
Well, she was, in a majority of them, and that's what mattered.
