Bank heist arrest
TT, May 13: One more person was arrested from Sealdah railway station in Calcutta last evening in connection with the robbery at the Central Bank of India's branch in Bagdogra.
Hassan Khan, a resident of Sahebgunj in Jharkhand, was picked up when he reached Sealdah to receive his girlfriend. The police had been tracking his cellphone to trace his movement.
Two other men had already been held for breaking into the bank on May 5 and decamping with old jewellery and other valuables worth more than Rs 1 crore.
A gold ornament and Rs 12.77 lakh in cash were recovered from the duo.
Hassan was produced in a court in Calcutta today. The court sent him to transit remand so that the police could take him to Siliguri for further investigation.
