CII north Bengal hosts 4th India Tea Forum

EOI, Siliguri 27 Feb 2016: The fourth edition of the India Tea Forum was held in Siliguri on February 26 and 27 with top industry stakeholders in attendance. The two-day event was organised by the North Bengal Zonal Council of the CII in association with the North Bengal Development Department and the Tea Board. Several successful ventures were present to display their products during the event in the wake of the tea industry embarking on improving and maintaining quality, with players innovating with blend and reinventing themselves as India’s premium tea retail establishments. They seek to project themselves as tea connoisseurs first and businessmen afterwards. Launched first in 2010, the India Tea Forum has emerged as a platform where tea grown in Darjeeling and the Dooars and Terai regions is promoted as a global brand. The objective of the forum is to bring together industry stakeholders including manufacturers, wholesalers, packagers, distributors and suppliers. Among those present at the inaugural session included NBDD minister Gautam Deb, Tea Board of India vice chairman BidyanandaBarkakoty, CII chairman PallaviKaul, CII North Bengal Zonal Council chairman NareshAgarwal, CII North Bengal Zonal Council vice chairman Ratan Kumar Bihani and Federation of All Indian Tea Traders’ Association chairman Harendra Saha.
