
I raised Kalimpong district demand first before CM: Pakhrin
EOI, Siliguri, 20 Dec 2015: Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Morcha (GRNM) president Dawa Pakhrin today told media persons in Siliguri that he was the first person to raise the demand of separate district for Kalimpong.
Pakhrin hold press conference at Siliguri Journalist Club just after Harkabahdur's press meet and informed media about his role in formation of separate district.
After Harkabahadur Pakhrin also did not spare to slam GJM on Gorkhaland issue. He said, "Central government is confused about the demands of GJM. GJM has several demands including central university, Tribal status for 11 castes and others but never focused on one point demand of Gorkhaland."
He urged the GJM leaders to be serious on only Gorkhaland demand and not on the secondary demands.Pakhrin praised West Bengal chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and termed her as 'Devi' of the state where Durga is worshipped. He said, "After independence Mamata Banerjee is the first lady to provide us complete justice by announcing Kalimpong as separate district."
Meanwhile Pakhrin told that separate district will open the doors of formation of Gorkhaland state and his party will fight for the separate state but with the support of state and central government.
