7 MLAs join SDF
As two-third of SKM MLAs - the party had 10 legislators in the Assembly - have joined the SDF, they would not attract the provisions of the anti-defection law.
"We were not happy with the way the party president (PS Golay) was functioning ...we felt humiliated and ignored in the party. There is no discipline in the SKM and the party has lost vision and ethics" said Hemendra Adhikari, one of the seven SKM MLAs, told journalists here today.
The press and publicity secretary of the SKM SKM, Bikash Basnet, said the seven MLAs had betrayed the people who had elected them.
Agencies add: Pawan Chamling himself in his facebook page has stated that the seven MLAs of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is welcomed into the Government and Sikkim Democratic Front Party and he is sure that they will endeavour to work for the betterment of the State and the people of Sikkim.
