Tea garden manager gheraoed
About 30-40 labourers gheraoed the manager of the tea garden, located in Mal block.
Joint Forum of Labour Unions of the tea garden said the garden belonged to the Duncan group.
A spokesman of the Joint Forum, Zia ul Alam of CITU, said a stalemate was continuing in the garden and the labourers had no money to buy food or medicine.
UTUC leader Nirmal Das said with a deadlock prevailing in the garden, labourers had to register their protest by this action.
A labourer of the same tea garden died on Monday and family members had alleged that he had died of malnutrition and lack of treatment.
