Girl’s dead body recovered

EOI, JALPAIGURI 23 Nov 2015: A naked dead body of young girl was today recovered from Ramjhora TG in Birpara area of Alipurduwar this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Anima Gosai (19), a resident of the TG. She had been missing since Sunday evening.

Police sources said the body was recovered from Section No. 22 of the TG by workers this morning. Anima used to stay with her grandmother in New Line area of the TG’s resident village and was a Xth standard student at Ramjhora Senior Secondary School.

Locals and the police suspect she could have been raped and murdered because of the state her body was recovered in.

Anima had gone missing since Sunday evening after she had headed off to her friend’s place. Her family and neighbours tried to find her late into the night without any results until her body was recovered this morning.

Police have started an investigation into the case while the body has been sent for post-mortem.
